My book 'Side by Side - In the Beginning' in the front window of Corrie Perkins 'My Bookshop', Malvern Rd, Hawksburn

Ed & I after the taping of the Book Trailer for 'Side by Side'. Ed spoke passionately about what it means to barrack for Collingwood and how he felt the first time he went to Victoria Park. Stirring stuff.

Me with CFC Archive's Tom Wanliss. Tom is a legend and was a great help in my research for writing the Collingwood stories.

Broome August 2009. Ian & Tobe. We loved the place.

At the Henry Lawson Festival in June, in front of a Henry Lawson bust with Dad. This is the main street of Grenfell in central N.S.W. I was lucky enough to win a Poetry Prize in the '2009 Henry Lawson Literary Awards'

We went to the Guinea Pig Races at the Pinnacle Guinea Pig Race Club, just outside of Grenfell. It's famous...didn't you know? This is a local sorting the guinea pigs out for their races.

This is the betting van. There were 22 races on the card.

This is the finish line. An official is in the stand with a stopwatch, and the race rails are flanked either side grandstands. It was a very cold day but the place was packed.

Granny backed a winner!

This is the starting line. Kids hold the guinea pigs behind perspex starter gates. That's Toby knocking back a lemonade, Ian, and Grandpa with the orange racebook. What a day!

The Henry Lawson Festival Dinner at the Bowls Club. We had the best night, I recited my poetry in front of 180 people! We enjoyed meeting all the other awards winners and loved meeting the locals. Grenfell is a great little country town.
