Neridah is an emerging Australian author and artist who writes stories and poetry for children. Neridah aspires to write stories that matter; some are long forgotten, some are little known.
Neridah’s latest children's picture book ‘Kick it to Me!’ is about Australian Rules Football and the indigenous influence of Marn-Grook. It's told through the eyes of a young Tom Wills and how he learned to play Marn-Grook with the children of the local Djab Wurrung tribe where he lived in the Western District of Victoria. Tom Wills is a national sporting icon and this book is a gem for every football loving child.
'Kick it to Me!' is a cry heard through the generations, from the red dust of the outback to the asphalt schoolyards of the city, to the hallowed turf of the MCG on Grand Final day. It transports us to another place and time but resonates to this very day, where the game is all that matters and having a kick with your mates is the most important thing in the world.
